Otter Advisory Newsletter #11
Hello
This is the 11th edition of the newsletter.
I've got some big news to announce. I'm becoming a Venture Capitalist (General Partner) at Acadian Ventures. I've written a blog post explaining the background to the move.
Basically we invest in early-stage future of work technologies. My partner, Jason Corsello, has his side of the story here.
I'll be in touch with the Otter Advisory clients over the next few weeks. My focus on the traditional advisory business will reduce gracefully over 2022, and I'll spend the majority of my time doing whatever it is that Venture Capitalists do. If you have any questions or are just curious to chat, do drop me a line.
We'll continue to collaborate with our network of experts, and pass on advisory work that isn't directly relevant to the fund to those experts. For instance, I'm really excited about the service Luk has developed for marketing positioning.
A lot of what I do will actually remain the same, helping HRTECH companies figure out market-fit, scale, partnering, roadmaps, build better product, funding strategies and so on, but the focus will be with companies and founders in which Acadian Ventures invests.
Engaging with a variety of vendors big and small, investors, bankers, analysts, users, academics and so on is very much part of the role, so I'll keep up the social media presence.
This is likely to be the last newsletter in the current form from me. Jason and I will be working on a new web presence and content strategy, not immediately, but soon. It will be nifty and GDPR friendly.
In the meantime, read the Acadian annual letter here.
This newsletter is a miscellany of what I’ve read, written, watched or heard over the last little while. This may interest people who work in the world of HRTECH, SaaS, work tech etc, either as users, builders or investors.
My thoughts are with the brave people of Ukraine.
