A breakthrough business idea does not always break through. Leaders need stories that spark meaning, context and connection to create advocates, followers and fans.
In the attention economy, leaders struggle to tell meaningful stories that spur authentic responses from customers, investors, media and employees.
If you want to create engagement by fusing strategy and story, contact Charlotte to find out how she can help you today.
Charlotte Otter is a career communicator, novelist and former journalist. Until recently, she led executive and employee communications at SAP SE. She worked with the Executive Board and other senior leaders to tell breakthrough stories that underpinned business strategy.
Charlotte believes that in the attention economy, strategy and story need to be symbiotic. She is currently studying for an MSc in change leadership - an executive programme run jointly by HEC Paris and Oxford Saïd Business School. With so many companies at an inflection point, the communication around change needs to be sensitively managed.
Charlotte’s leadership across multiple change programmes at SAP provides her with the ideal experience to help companies negotiate the communication of change. Her success as a novelist means she understands the emotional impact of great-storytelling. Her journalism career inspired her values of freedom, justice and authenticity.
“I have had the pleasure of working with Charlotte over the years. She is a brilliant communicator who knows what it takes for communication to achieve its desired impact. She is someone who magically balances empathy with people and a tough-minded focus on the task at hand.”

“Charlotte’s approach to communication strategy is extremely effective. Her background as a former journalist and a novelist means her approach to communication is always centred around the protagonist and the audience. Charlotte brought in a very inspiring and transformative style to executive communications. In many ways she laid the foundation for executive comms at SAP in a style that was so effective that it was adopted across the company. Her versatile consultative style and the ability to formulate a strategy around communication across a spectrum of themes from customer events to large org transformation led her to drive SAP‘s global internal comms, where she excelled.”
